Publication Copyright

MJMS policy prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications. It also prohibits publication of any manuscript that has already been published either in whole or where a substantial part has been published elsewhere.  Publication of the manuscript that has been published in full in proceedings is also not allowed. The editorial may use a plagiarism detection system on the submissions to ascertain these publication rules are abided. By submitting your manuscript to this journal, you are deemed to have accepted that your manuscript may be screened for plagiarism against previously published works.

Editorial process

Authors are notified of the receipt of a manuscript and upon the Editorial decision regarding publication.

Manuscript review: Manuscripts deemed suitable for publication are sent to the Editorial Board members and/or other reviewers/referees. We encourage authors to suggest the names of possible reviewers/referees. Notification of the Editorial decision is usually provided within 12 (twelve) weeks from the notification of the receipt of the manuscript.

Author approval: Authors are responsible for all statements/amendments in articles, including changes made by editors. The liaising author must be available for consultation with an editor of MJMS to answer questions during the editorial process and to approve the edited copy. Authors will receive the edited typescript (not galley proofs) for final approval. Changes cannot be made to the copy after the edited version has been approved.

Manuscript preparation

MJMS accepts submission of research or original articles, and proposals for special issues. The articles must be in English and they must be competently written and argued in clear and concise; and grammatical correct English. Acceptable English usage and syntax are expected. Authors are strongly recommended to have the manuscript checked/proof read by a colleague with ample experience in writing English manuscripts or an English language editor. Manuscripts where the written English is difficult to read will be rejected straightaway.

MJMS operates a format-free submission, meaning that, provided you have included everything necessary (please refer to Format of Manuscript) for the review and use a consistent citation format, you can submit your paper without needing to worry about formatting your manuscript.  However, if your manuscript is accepted, you are required to typeset your manuscript using the LaTeX template.

IMPORTANT: The instructions for authors must be followed. Manuscripts not adhering to the instructions will be returned for revision without review.

Types of Journal Articles

Original Research:

This is the most common type of journal manuscript used to publish full reports of data from research. It may be called an Original Article, Research Article, Research, or just Article, depending on the journal. The Original Research format is suitable for many different fields and different types of studies. The structure of this kind of submission includes (but not limited to) a full Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Results and Discussion, as well as Conclusions sections. The minimum number of pages should be at least 10 pages (excluding the references).

IMPORTANT: Please note that, we do not accept PREPRINT manuscript for publication.

Peer review
MJMS follows a double-blind peer-review process. Peer reviewers are experts chosen by journal editors to provide a written assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of written research, with the aim of improving the reporting of research and identifying the most appropriate and highest quality material for the journal.

The Journal’s review process
The practice of peer review is to ensure that good paper is published. It is an objective process at the heart of good scholarly publishing and is carried out on all reputable scientific journals.

English language editing
For editors and reviewers to accurately assess the work presented in your manuscript you need to ensure the English language is of sufficient quality to be understood. If you need help with the English language, you should consider:

  • Asking a colleague who is a native English speaker to review your manuscript for clarity.
  • Visiting the English language tutorial which covers the common mistakes when writing in English.
  • Using a professional language editing service where editors will improve the English to ensure that your meaning is clear and identify problems that require your review.

Please note: The language preference can be either British or American English. Please ensure that the use is consistent throughout the submission.

Author material archive policy
Authors who require the return of any submitted material that is rejected for publication in the journal should indicate in the cover letter. If no indication is given, that author's material will not be returned, the Editorial Office will dispose of all hardcopy and electronic material.

Copyright
Authors publishing in the journal will be asked to sign a declaration form. In signing the form, it is assumed that authors have obtained permission to use any copyrighted or previously published material. All authors must read and agree to the conditions outlined in the form and must sign the form or agree that the corresponding author can sign on their behalf. Articles cannot be published until a signed form has been received.

Hardcopies of the Journals and offprints
Under the Journal's open access initiative, authors can choose to download free material (via PDF link) from any of the journal issues from MJMS's website.
